Trying to create a diet plan...
Hey all!
I have recently decided that its time for a change. As i've said in the "new member" section, Im looking to lose weight and tone up over the next few months.
Over the last few years I have picked up some bad eating habbits, due to a number of things such as settling down with my girlfriend and also having my appendix removed. These are small excuses but my motivation decreased rapidlly. As i've said, I used to be VERY active in my teens, but cannot really say the same for now.
Anyways, over the last month I havent touched junk food, and have pretty much lived off fruit (and lots of it) and soup around lunch time, then decent meals such as chicken with rice on a night time.
What i need help with is getting a good idea of what foods I should be eating and what not to eat. I bought some Granary bread the other day, thinking "yeah this is much healthier that white!" but when i looked at the daily guidelines, there really wasnt much of a difference to a white loaf of bread we have in the house. Why is wholemeal/granary bread much better than white?
Basically, im just after some hints and tips with what foods I should be eating and also what I should be avoiding. Also, how many calories I should be eating and burning at the gym.
My aim is to go to the gym 4 times a week, obviously focusing on cardio more than anything for now.
My knowledge on nutrition is faily limited, so hope you folks can help me out over the next few weeks!
This looks like a great forum - I've been looking for a decent one for ages!
Thanks :-)
Chris!
