Hiya Guys, great site!
Hiya, just started getting fit!!
I have my Police Medical in July then I have the dreaded fitness test coming up soon after that, I've cut down on a lot of the crap I eat and started running around Pitch croft.
I've also been taking 'Thermobol' from Maximuscle I brought them from Rosemary’s in town, I was told they where good for shedding the pounds
So far so good I was 91.50kg when the Doctor weighed me I'm now 87.40kg, that’s in two weeks so I am well motivated at the moment.
I am also tracking my weight with a pretty comprehensive Spreadsheet, if anybody wants a copy let me know I'll just Email you a copy.

Hi Rossco - welcome to the forum!
Tell us a bit more about yourself - have you trained for a particular goal before or used a gym, what sort of training experience do you have? What are your current stats (height / bodyfat percentage if you know it)
Sounds like you have made a good start losing 4kg in 2 weeks. This will probably slow as your bodu adjusts to the training but you should be looking for 1kg per week for a healthy weight loss. Check out the main site -- www.fitness.uk.net where there is lots of information on training and nutrition as well as a recipes section and fitness tools you can use to track your progress.
Also if you use Maximuscle products then you could take advantage of our affiiliate offers with them - click on one of the Maximuscle links and you will get money off etc.
I would be interested to see a copy of the spreadsheet - my email address is gareth@fitness.uk.net so send it through if you get a sec!
What does the fitness test for the police entail then?
Anyway, hoep to see you again on here - the moderators on the site are all fitness proffessionals and qualified personal trainers so you can use their knowledge and advice. We also provide personalised training and nutrition programmes for our members so check that out on the main site.
And again, welcome to the forum and enjoy the site!

Hiya, yeah sure. I work for the Council so I get a massive 50% discount from St Johns, Nunnery Wood and Perdiswell but I didn’t find them particularly good gyms!
The people were not very friendly they just came in worked out then left, also the staff didn’t really engage with me when I was there (to busy hanging around the size 10 blondes)
So I just got bored and didn’t bother going back to any Gyms, my friend Scott owns a gym in Telford Gym Nation 'He’s a big bugger'
I'm not 100% sure of my body fat, my BMI is 27.6 it was 29 last year I'm also 178cm or 5,10"
The Police test is not that bad to be honest, it’s a bleep test, 35kg push and pull and an assault course, https://www.west-midlands.police.uk/wmprrecruit/wmpr2006130133436.asp

Yes I havent heard the best reports anout those gyms tbh - for your particular goals you need a gym with a fair range of free weights and benches as well as some more specialised machines, however 50% discount is a good incentive to go to one of the council ones!
It does help if the staff help an encourage you as it will help keep you motivated - good gym staff should be a source of information. I can recommend other good local gyms to worcester if you want to change, just let me know!
What are your goals - to lose weight and tone up or to gain muscle? what sort of training routine are you following at the moment? The only way to lose weight and keep it off successfully is to combine a resistance / cardio routine with a good nutritional plan. Once you have these sorted you will be well on the way and keep up the good progress you have already made.
You can work your bodyfat out on the site - I would use that as a guide to your progress and take BMI with a pinch of salt - it does have its uses for a percentage of the population but quite frankly it is an inaccuarate measure of overall body composition - one of my mates is a recreational bodybuilder, he was about your height and about 15 stone with low bodyfat, about 8%. You could see his abs, yet when he went to join the fire service they refused his application as his BMI was higher than 25 and they told him he was clinically obese
Thanks for the link to the test, I will check it out but im sure you will sail through it - please dont hesitate to ask if you need any help or advice and keep us updated on your progress - you might consider starting a training diary in the journal section which will help keep you motivated (if you have time!)
